Metal News, Releases, Bloody Valentine and more!

Good morning all,

So this is kind of interesting, according to Noisecreep,  guitarist Steve Stevens has put together a project called “Titans of Rock” that will tour South America this spring. Scheduled to appear with Stevens is Gene Simmons, Duff McKagan, Jason Newstead, Glenn Hughes, Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke, Ed Roland, Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, and Joe Elliot. I would pay to see this show! I just hope they will do something in the US with the tour, or at least a DVD. The story and dates can be found here:

So I forgot to mention this yesterday but the Foo Fighters won the Grammy Sunday night for best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album. I know a lot of people are upset about this because Foo Fighters are not heavy metal, but they are hard rock and the categories are combined. I personally don’t care, I stopped paying attention to the Grammy’s when Jethro Tull won for best Heavy Metal band, but if you want to see someone who has a really strong opinion about this read Eddie Trunk’s Twitter timeline from Sunday night. He really does not like the Grammy’s. My question is why do we even care who wins the Grammy? How does it change how we listen to music? What does it mean to you the listener and purchaser of music? Do you buy an artist’s album because they won a Grammy? Are you more prone to try a artist you have never listened to because they won a Grammy? Let me know what you think. I have always been a metal head, so the Grammy’s have had no effect on how I purchase or listen to music.
