Good Morning All,

So Metallica is going to hold the Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City Nj on June 23 and 24. As seen by the scheduled performers it is a very eclectic list of acts most of them from the Alternative Rock field, with a couple of Alt/Country acts sprinkled in. The heaviest band on the bill so far, besides Metallica, is Avenged Sevenfold, who I would personally like to see in concert but I am not so sure that I would want to go out of my way to attend this festival to see them.

At this point in their career Metallica can pretty much do anything they want, just look at Lulu, and I personally think that this festival could be good for music depending on what happens in the long run and how successful it really is. Additionally, if Atlantic City itself handles the crowds well enough maybe, maybe we could see more festivals in the United States. I am not talking about Mayhem or Ozzfest or the now defunct Lollapalooza, but something in the vein of Sonisphere or Waken that happen every year in England. Something that could be a significant way to see a large selection of bands in the festival atmosphere. I know I am asking for big things and logistically it is probably not possible, but it is fun to think about. Wouldn’t you love to take a week off of work and camp out in a field to see all of your favorite metal acts in one place? I know I would, but camping for me means finding a hotel nearby or an RV because I am not camping out with all of you stinky people for a week J

Here is the currently scheduled lineup for the Festival
